At the heart of the village lies Dirhami Harbour, one of the largest small boat harbors in Lääne County, historically significant as a key trading point. During the Soviet era, the harbour was repurposed as a strategic military facility, but today, it’s a safe, welcoming harbor that draws sailors and boating enthusiasts throughout the summer season.
The coastal area of Dirham is remarkable for its natural beauty—its clean, stone-free sandy beach is perfect for swimming. Surrounding the coast are old pine forests, offering serene walks filled with the quiet sounds of birdsong and the sea. Uncrowded by large tourist groups, Dirham’s coast offers visitors an uncommon sense of privacy and tranquillity.

Põõsaspea Cape
Põõsaspea Cape is one of the best birdwatching sites in Europe. Migratory birds, especially arctic species, can be seen here every year, making it an ideal stopover for birdwatchers. It is certainly one of the largest birdwatching sites in Estonia. The cape is located about 1 km from Dirhami harbour and also offers picturesque views.
Port of Dirhami
At the heart of the village is the port of Dirhami, known for its historical importance. Today it is a peaceful fishing port and a popular stop for small boats. The harbour restaurant serves local food and offers great sea views.

The place is popular with surfers and holidaymakers alike who appreciate the proximity to the beach and the relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect stop-off point to enjoy the proximity of the sea and the sunshine, whether after a day at the beach or just to spend time with friends. The bar is open in summer!

Roslep Brewery is a nanobrewery run by a family business in the village of Rooslepa. The brewery grew out of a hobby and a love of brewing. Their aim is to offer both old classics and new experiments in the world of beer.
Nõva Landscape Reserve
Nõva Landscape Reserve is a natural treasure in Läänemaa, offering rich pine forests, bogs and beautiful sandy beaches. The reserve’s hiking trails take visitors through untouched forests and peaceful beaches, where they can enjoy the tranquillity of nature and discover the region’s unique natural and cultural heritage. The area is particularly popular with birdwatchers, hikers and summer beachgoers.
Spithami village
The village of Spithami, historically also known as Spithamn, dates back to at least the 14th century, when people of Swedish origin settled there. Spitham’s name derives from the Old Norse word for ‘rock’, reflecting the area’s rocky and seaside character. The village is famous for its historic fishing tradition and its links with the culture of the Estonian Swedes.
Forest lakes
Lake Pikane is renowned for its clean water and natural beauty. It is a popular destination for fishermen who come to enjoy the peace and tranquillity the lake offers.
Allikjärv takes its name from the springs that bring clean, fresh water to the lake. It’s a great place for summer days out and swimming. The hiking trails along the lake offer great opportunities to discover nature. It is also known as the Dancing Lake, because in the old days there was a dancing place built on poles above the lake, which was the main meeting place for the young people of the village.
Lake Toatse is also a popular fishing spot and offers tranquil moments surrounded by nature. There are plenty of beautiful nature walks around the lake, ideal for families and nature lovers.
Sandy beach-Peraküla study trail
The sandy shore-Peraküla study trail crosses different types of landscapes and precious habitats, passing Toatse and Allikajärv, leading the hiker to the beautiful heath forest and to the singing sands by the sea, which stretch for ten kilometres. The trail also introduces you to Nõva’s heritage culture – you’ll see a World War I egg-road and a radio station.
The trail is dry, 4.4 km long, equipped with information boards.
